BARHOP
The scene | Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant, 3060 Howard Ave., Myrtle Beach. 839-0249 The vibe | This new kid on the block still has its shine. The dark wood and leather interior is pretty hip, while the tan wicker chairs outside are super comfortable. If you're basking out on the patio, it's hard to believe you're still in Myrtle Beach.
Ape Hangers
The Vibe | Hours are 4 p.m. until 4 a.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. until 2 a.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. until 2 a.m. Sunday. Set up in an old flatiron-shaped building in the heart of Five Points, downtown Myrtle Beach, this space has some history and a great view. The tall ceilings and hardwood floors make for a pleasant atmosphere with a bar upstairs and a bar facing the huge windows for people-watching. The downstaris area was renovated and has a cozy second bar including a pool table and games. Parking may be tricy as it's behind the bar.
Dead Dog Saloon
Dead Dog Saloon, located in Murrells Inlet, offers a broad menu and a nice view of the Inlet.
The Grill House
The scene | The Grill House, 228 Second Ave. N, U.S. 17 North, North Myrtle Beach. 249-3033 The vibe | Don't let this joint fool you: From the outside, The Grill House looks like a neighborhood sports bar, but the inside feels like a family restaurant with its brick walls, art and wood-paneled bar.
Villa Mare
Villa Mare is begging for a date. It's the perfect place for an intimate evening, even if you're just lounging at the bar.
